Passport and/or photo ID - A valid passport and/or photo
ID are a must for any travelers, even when traveling domestically.
Visa - Depending upon your citizenship, some countries require travel visas, some do not.
When traveling overseas, please make sure that you have a valid visa for each country,
requiring a visa, where you are going to visit. If you are not sure whether a visa is
needed, please call our experienced staff or send us an e-mail. If you need to obtain your
visa, our Visa Department can assist you on any visa application.
Prior to departure - Please reconfirm you flight 24 hours prior for last minute
schedule changes. Make sure that you bring all travel documents, tickets,
itinerary, address/phone number at each destination, money, and all NECESSARY personal
belongings (don't be your own slave by over packing). It is important that you leave all
contact information at home so that you can be reached while traveling by your family
members or close friends for any emergency.
On the road - Always carry a copy of your documents in your
carry-on bag. Don't carry all your money in the same bag and have a small amount handy at all times.
Security is of utmost importance when traveling alone. First make sure you let
people know you are not alone. ALWAYS take a cellular phone regardless of whether
it works or not. If you ever feel that you are being followed,
take out your phone and call or PRETEND to call someone.
At arrival - Never take a taxi that seems just to be hanging around,
offering its service when there is a taxi queue available. If traveling abroad,
make sure to change some money into the local currency before you depart. This gives
you one less thing to worry about, and will stop you from pulling a large amount
of money out at the arriving airport.
In a hotel - please book a hotel that you recognize the name or have been given
a recommendation from a friend. otherwise make sure that you recognize the
hotel name. During your stay at the hotel, please pay attention to the following:
If there is someone watching you or following you ... get a security guard.
Leave a television or radio on in the room ... even if you're not there.
Never leave your key where someone can learn your room number.
don’t open your room door to anyone unless they can show some proof of identification.
Before leaving for the next destination or returning home - Double check your hotel room,
bus, or flight seat to make sure that you have all your personal belongings packed.
How to beat jetlag - If you travel long distances, you should either stay awake
for your entire flight time or force yourself to sleep right after the first meal
to adapt to the time change easier.
Food and water - The worst thing that could happen to you while traveling is
to become sick. Our advice is to not make yourself too exhausted and to pay attention to the following:
Stick with bottled or boiled water and carbonated soft drinks.
Wipe off the tops of cans before you drink from them.
Avoid raw foods, as they can also be a good way to get sick.
Only brush your teeth with bottled water if you are unsure about the water quality.
